Do the following:

  1. The first and foremost, plug Linksys router into the power source.  Then, take an Ethernet cable and insert into cable modem port and the another Ethernet cable and insert into “Internet port” that is present on the backside of Linksys router.
  2. As well as, connect your system to Linksys router by using the Ethernet cable, ensure that, Ethernet cable which you are using is not torn or frayed
  3. Now, open the web browser and type “192.168.1.1” into the address bar.
  4.  In next step, on another screen login box prompt, you have to enter login credentials, if you don’t know login details then following the below login details: "Username – admin” and “Password – password”.
  5.  When you successfully Logging Linksys Velop through web page then, click on “Setup” option and modify the router’s name by default one to something unique.
  6. Next, click on save to save settings.

  8. After that, move to” SSID broadcast” option and set it as “Disable” by using remote button.

  11.  Navigate to Passphrase box and enter a distinctive password and choose the Generate menu button and save the settings.
  12. Normally, Mac filtering is used to secure router. To enable Mac filtering on Linksys Velop router, choose “Wireless Mac filter” and then tap on “Enable” button. After doing this, click on “Edit Mac Filter list” and enter the Mac address of your system as well as the other devices that you want to connect from Linksys router’s network.
  13. Further, choose the Administration menu tab and enter a new password in the “Router Password” field. Make sure this password is unique from WEP encryption.
  14. In last, clicking on save button and try to Linksys Velop Set-up again.
